I’ve had my 18’ Caracal for 3 years. In that time, I’ve fished
it out to 30 miles for Black Fin Tuna on the Shrimp Boats
(without carrying additional fuel) and enjoy sneaking into less
than a foot of water for snook, redfish and trout. I have the
115 Suzuki 4 Stroke which has allowed me to save on fuel and is
plenty of power for this great little cat.
I compare this boat
to a jeep. It will take more punishment that the driver. I’m 52
and have had a lifetime of getting the snot beat out of me on monohulls. That is why I like this boat so much. Not only does
it ride better, it is easy to trailer, easy on fuel, cleanup is
a breeze and can do everything in this boat that I want to do
from 12” out to 120 feet. This is the perfect Florida boat!
I have attached some photos of me fishing from the boat and a
nice grouper I caught last winter. I caught him on a cold, windy
day. I didn’t even see any other boats out the 22 miles where I
got him. I am so confident in this boat that I fish it alone
many times, because I can’t find anyone else game enough to go
out when it’s that miserable.
I don’t really take many pictures of the boat because I’m in it
all the time, but you can see the console shot in the kingfish
photo and make out the Suzuki logo in the night snook shot.
I would buy this boat again in a heartbeat. I totally trust Alan
Snoek. His integrity, ethics and his product are first class!
